The Diabetic Association of Pakistan Conference featured a comprehensive scientific session attended by leading diabetologists from across Pakistan. Key figures including Abdul Basit, Shabeen Naz Masood, and Zaman Shaikh participated, contributing valuable insights to the discussions. The event also included a poster presentation segment highlighting important clinical findings and research developments in diabetes care.
The community diabetes awareness program was attended by a large number of participants and honored by Chief Guest Gen (R) Moinuddin Haider. Mian Mukhtar Ahmed, President of Diabetic Association of Pakistan, along with senior officials and healthcare professionals, stressed the importance of early detection, awareness, and preventive care. The event featured an interactive Q&A session, free diabetes screenings, and educational activities aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle practices and empowering the community.
Today, in collaboration with NADEP (National Association of Diabetes Educators of Pakistan), we organized a diabetes awareness walk on the occasion of 14th November – World Diabetes Day. We were honored to have DAP’s senior administrator, treasurer, senior consultants, and the entire DAP team join us for this meaningful activity. As part of our initiative for public health and awareness, we also conducted 200 free sugar tests for the community.
The Diabetic Association of Pakistan (DAP) held its General Body Meeting & Elections in Karachi, highlighting key initiatives including expansion of pharmacy and laboratory services, progress in the GDM program, community eye-care activities, and the approval of audited accounts, while reaffirming its commitment to diabetes prevention, awareness, research, and improved patient care across Pakistan.
A session on the importance of professional ethics in the workplace was conducted at the Diabetic Association of Pakistan, emphasizing integrity, accountability, and the role of ethical values in building a strong and responsible professional environment.
The World Diabetes Day Conference 2024 successfully brought together healthcare professionals and participants for meaningful discussions on diabetes awareness and management. The event featured two engaging sessions, a poster competition showcasing creative ideas, and an interactive Q&A session that encouraged knowledge exchange between experts and attendees. The conference was widely appreciated by doctors and professionals, highlighting its impact in promoting diabetes awareness and education.
The Diabetic Association of Pakistan organized a Free Cataract Surgeries Camp in collaboration with Al-Ibrahim Eye Hospital to provide essential eye care services to patients in need. The initiative aimed to support individuals suffering from cataracts by offering free surgical treatment, contributing to improved vision and better quality of life.
